Each patient’s plan of care is individualized and specifically developed for you. If you have minor concerns and mild symptoms, you will have an anticipated shorter plan of care. Those with chronic and more severe symptoms can expect a longer plan of care. We have an open discussion on recommendations at your initial evaluation and we work together to determine what frequency and anticipated length of treatment works best for you.

You are welcome to bring someone with you for any reason. Some patients will bring a partner/loved one or a friend. It is completely up to the patient to determine if that person is in the treatment room or stays in the waiting room. At times it may be beneficial for a partner to learn about the patient’s home exercise program or recommendations and they are free to come learn in-session if the patient consents to it.
Children are welcome! We understand that childcare is not always readily available. We will have a safe space for your child to hang out or play in the treatment room. We’ve even done sessions with patients holding their child. You know your child best and you will know if you are able to focus and fully participate with them there.

You are encouraged to wear whatever makes you feel comfortable. If you know that you want to practice certain movements/activities where you would be comfortable in athletic wear, it would be advised to wear it or bring it with you. Sometimes manual work directly on the skin is warranted. With consent from the patient, clothing can be pulled aside or we can drape with sheets (similar to a massage set up) if it is more convenient to remove the clothing item.

We have handicapped accessible parking spaces in front of and on the side of the building. There is a small flight of stairs in the front of the building to get to the Sparrow Pelvic Health suite. If you are unable to navigate stairs, there is a flat path on the side of the building, starting at the acupuncture office, and you can move around to the front of the building from there. (right side of the building (when facing the front) Once on the level of the suite, there are no stairs or large thresholds to get into the space. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions about accessibility.

Yes, we offer virtual appointments. Initial evaluation appointments are in person. If you think you would benefit from virtual appointments/check ins after that, we can discuss if this is feasible. It will depend on the type of symptoms you are having. Of course, any hands on/manual work will not occur during virtual appointments, so they are best for educational and problem solving types of concerns.
